Awesome! Great Great Awesome! Great
It is great to have a local brew place. I have been there several times recently and am becomming a relative regular. I have had several appitisers, all of which have been great, especially the buffalo chicken tenders, great flavor, and good amount. My beer of chouce has been the Misfit Red. It seems, more times than not, my server has been Morgan. She is a real delight, great to talk to and always keeps the beers full, and always there for samples.

I live near the DuClaw's outside of Bel Air, MD and from its inception in 1996 up to the present time, I would describe this place as follows: lousy beer, mediocre food, so-so service, and high prices. I go there every now and then in hopes that something has changed, but am always disappointed.

For a much better brewpub experience in this area, I strongly recommend Red Brick Station in White Marsh.

Place often runs out of simple food items (tuna for tuna salad or pork ribs and etc). Place doesn't smell delicious when you walk in.

Great Place when is it reopening? I was disappointed with Fells point Duclaw. Same great beer, but boring atmosphere. Maybe this is a little to "chain-fied" Otherwise love DuClaw!!!

This place is great IF you're going only for the beer. The food leaves a lot to be desired. We've eaten at this establishment 3 times now and finally gave up on it. In two out of our three visits, we were informed that they were out of both the appetizer (crab pretzel) AND the selected entrees (both tuna and salmon). And this was on a weekend evening BEFORE the normal dinner rush.

My substitute entree consisted of two large overcooked pork chops which were nearly an impossibility to cut much less eat. And they were out of the crab pretzel both times.

It's a disappointment to patronize a rather large chain establishment and be expected to make substitutions more times than not. And to run out of popular food items on a weekend is inexcusable.

Unfortunately, DuClaw's will NOT be missed.

Minor fire hit the bar on the night of August 10th; place temporarily closed for major repairs. Renovations, expected to last until late September, include removal of the original DuClaw brewing system from the building.

A disappointing stop. I always look forward to seeing DuClaw at beer festivals because they bring lots of seasonals. This makes three stops for me at two different locations where none were to be had. Even worse, they were not pouring Venom on nitro, which is always more than an adequate replacement for missing the seasonals. I suppose I'm a victim of my own bad timing!

The Venom PA was perfection. The Red was equally as tasty. its been a while since someone reviewed this place, but i'd come back for this stuff often. The service was a bit slow, only since there was only one bartender and he was getting slammed. Food was ok, had the crab cake sando. Place looks like it'd be a fun place for happy hour. but, bottom line, the beer was fantastic.

Some of their beer is very good (Devil's Milk, Venom, Fantome) but these weren't on this trip. Perhaps they could take a look at the regular list of beers and turn some seasonals into part of the regular lineup.

I have been in this place about a dozen times since it opened. I live less than a mile from it which is the saddest thing - I should be living in there... Unfortunately I have never been impressed with the place. The beer is now MUCH better than when it first opened in the 90s but the food and the service are constantly disappointing. I did meet Cal Ripken Sr. in there before he died :)

I recently returned from visiting both Duclaw brew houses in Maryland. Fortunatley, I was there when they unveiled the 2003 Devils Milk Barleywine. Unbeliveable!!! Very hoppy, slight fruit aftertaste, and will land you on your posterior if you're not careful. Almost 11% alcohol...meant to be sipped and savored..not gulped. Probably one of the best brews I have ever tasted. Too bad you can't get it in Philly.

to sum it all up, it sucked!! service was slooooow, the beer was stale, prices to high for the amount of food you get, and the management there is horrible, michael (maybe), he should find a new job!!! we've been to the one in arundle mills, and enjoyed it there, but bel air was definitley not with it!!!! only good thing there is the t-shirts!!!

Haven't been in for a while and was disappointed that Billy the bartender no longer worked there. He was excellent. And noone knows where he went... to another bar?

Beers are average; drinkable, but nothing special. Food was poor. Our server and the atmosphere was great, unfortunately that's not enough to make me go back.

I started going to the Arundel Mills location about a year ago.... now I'm there every Friday night. I thought I would never find a good dark beer in the States after spending three years in Germany. The Bad Moon proved me dead wrong. My favorite item from the menu apparently wasn't the greatest crowd pleaser and was discontinued. If the Great Potato (stuffed baked potato with chicken and veggies with a hearty gravy made with Bad Moon) comes back, I want to be first in line! Now where's the Bad Moon T-shirt?

I had the sampler, 8-4 oz beers, all drinkable. Since I don't care for too hoppy beers, left about half of the Venom brew in the glass. The atmosphere was ok, but I would have decorated it a bit pubbisher. Interesting to have a TV at the table for news etc.

The food and beer is worth the visit as well as the beer release parties. The staff on the other hand is handycaped due to being young and inexperianced with customer service. On a number of ocassions that I have had my growler refilled, I was short changed on getting it toped off except for the initial time I bought it. I have also had bartenders just woundering around behind a very busy bar and not even look for or acknowledge that customers were needing service. Again it was the younger staff. My wife and I really enjoy our visits and plan on continueing our visits frequently. At least at this point.

We went a few times last year. My maryland homebrewer showing off the local places and I was impressed. The food is wonderful, the crab dip, yummy and the beer was very tasty, very. He started a collection of DuClaw glasses that now live in our NY home. We'll be visiting them again. I loved our sweet waitress wh when she was asked if I could give her hug, complied. Great Place!
